WB Games have joined the celebration of Batman’s 80th anniversary with an interesting tweet. The Canadian studio also used the occasion to tease the next chapter of the popular Batman Arkham series with a comic writer possibly having let the cat out of the bag that it will be about the popular Court of Owls comic book story line.

The dark caped crusader has been gliding over Gotham City for a massive 80 years now. With his first appearance even before the start of World War II, many fans might underestimate just for how long Batman has been a major player in the comic scene. As for gaming, Bruce Wayne’s alter ego has been available in interactive form since the inception of traditional home consoles with the NES as well.
Despite having appeared in tons of games throughout the decades, it’s the Arkham series of Batman games that truly managed to translate the stories and characters of the rich comics into the gaming medium in an amazing way. With the latest installment, Arkham Knight, being four years old now, gamers sadly have been waiting for the long-rumored new entry longer than expected.
This wait could very well be over soon, going by the recent Tweets made by WB Games Montréal studio and comic book writer Scott Synder. Comic book fans were quick to decipher cryptic images from the developers tweet to be connected to the Court of Owls story line in the comics. Adding significant credibility to this is the Tweet by Scott Snyder, the writer of said comic himself. Synder has deleted his Tweet but here’s a screengrab.
As you can see, Synder directly hints at Court of Owls with the hashtag #bewarethecourtofowls. So it seems all but confirmed that the next Batman game will feature the secretive and shadowy criminal organization that runs Gotham City from the shadows for decades.
