The newest clip for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was revealed today during the winter finale of Gotham. Fitting, right? Of course, this clip paints a whole new light on the whole Bat-Super relationship.
In the clip you see Batman chained up as a hostage with two guards standing by, one on each side. His arms are chained up above his head and then Superman drops down into the cell which appears to be underground in the desert. It's basically in the same area we've seen Batman fighting unknown individuals in the desert-like, sandy environment. As Superman walks by the four other guards at the entrance, they immediately take a knee to bow.
Superman then walks, or rather struts, up to Batman with an extremely menacing look and rips his mask off. At this point, you see why Batman isn't a real "super hero" as it is just pure, unadulterated fear in his eyes. He basically looks like a little bi*ch. Superman then looks at the mask, drops it, and fade to black.
This clip is just a teaser for the full trailer that will debut during Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, December 2nd, at 11:35 / 10:35 CT. Though we're clearly not hiding our Superman bias, we'll save our analysis for the full trailer when it debuts. However, it's worth noting that this is probably not the film's actual portrayal of Superman, but instead some sort of paranoid nightmare of Bruce Wayne who witnessessed the potential destruction of Superman's godlike power in Man of Steel.
It's just getting better and better for this film, which is ultimately setting the stage for the formation of the Justice League. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice releases March 25th, 2016 worldwide.
