Today's live-action Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 trailer, released just days ahead of the game's worldwide reveal on Sunday, contains plenty of hints and clues as to what we should expect from this year's title. But perhaps none are as exciting as the hint towards a Zombies mode.
While the game's description from the official Call of Duty website might have already spoiled the mode's inclusion — or maybe Treyarch developing the game has already done that — it's still fun to search for subtle clues.
Today's trailer, which sheds more light on the futuristic setting of Black Ops 3, contained a few scenes in which Element 115 was mentioned. Of course, Element 115 plays a role in the Zombies backstory as it was used by the Nazis to create zombies by reanimating dead cells.
The reference to Element 115 pops up twice (that I've found) in the new trailer. In one scene, it's shown during a sequence in which a city is burning. Perhaps that's footage from attempting to control the zombie outbreak?
It then appears in a scene later on, when a late night television host reveals that scientists have created the first networked brain-to-brain connection. "You can now literally share your thoughts with someone else," he says to a round of appluase. Of course, what happens in every movie when you start messing with brains? Typically zombies.
Again, Black Ops 3 having a Zombies mode probably isn't a surprise to many of you,b ut it's still fun to notice these kind of hints.
The world reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is scheduled for Sunday, April 26. I'm sure we'll hear something about zombies then.
