New Cyberpunk 2077 details suggest mid-2019 release

CD Projekt Red received $7 million from the Polish government back in December as part of a grant to help fund their next project, Cyberpunk 2077. Prior to the Polish government giving CD Projekt Red a huge sum of money, the developers had to submit four proposals for what the money would be spent on which were, City Creation, Seamless Multiplayer, Cinematic Feel, and Animation Excellence.

Now, CD Projekt Red has revealed more details (via NeoGaf) on how the government funding will be used on those four themes (emphasized above). The details come in the form of various job postings, each under one of the themes and include the confirmation that Cyberpunk 2077 will be using the next iteration of the RedEngine, RedEngine 4.

While the job listings are interesting (seen below) the real intriguing part of the details is the timeline that is attached to them. The dates in the job breakdowns act as a deadline, however, it should be noted that CD Projekt Red can have them extended.

According to the details, the project will run until June 2019 – without an extension. This suggests that the projects funded by the government should be released by that date, which means that Cyberpunk 2077 could release in mid to late 2019, depending on whether they get an extension.

Cyberpunk 2077 was originally revealed in October 2012.

For the Cinematic Feel:

For the Animation Excellence:
