New Destiny: The Taken King trailer reminds us there’s a story

Bungie has released a new trailer to promote Destiny's new expansion, The Taken King, which is set to release next month on September 15th.

The trailer is more of an overview, providing us with not necessarily any new details, but new looks at the challenges that await. The trailer briefly shows some of our past accomplishments as Guardians before introducing us to the consequences of our previous actions.

Building onto Destiny's expansive universe, The Taken King features an all-new campaign centered on Oryx, father of Crota (killed off in The Dark Below expansion). Now armed with a "dark power beyond anything we've yet to face," Oryx has returned with an evil army of corrupted Taken. In addition to the new campaign, The Taken King will also bring three new Guardian subclasses: Sunbreaker (Solar Titan), Stormcaller (Arc Warlock), and Nightstaler (Void Hunter). And of course, there will be a nice mix of PvE and PvP content.

Thanks to this month's GameInformer magazine, we've also learned that Nolan North will replace Peter Dinklage as the voice of Ghost, and that Bunge is completely overhauling Destiny's leveling system.
