During a panel at SXSW today, Telltale Games and Kinda Funny's very own, Greg Miller, took to the stage to shed some more details on the upcoming episodic Batman game.
The game was first
announced back at the 2015 Video Game Awards and since had many fans excited to see what crazy story Telltale could cook up with the caped crusader. At the panel, it was announced that the game will be debuting later this Summer, but no specific date was announced.
Players
can expect a standalone story, meaning it won't connect with any other type of Batman related stories including the
final entry into the Rocksteady series. The episodic-series will follow the typical path from Telltale with five episodes and it will feature characters such as Alfred, Vicki Vale, and Jim Gordon.
However, instead of the typical brute fighting Batman we come to know and love, Telltale plans to branch out and focus more on Bruce Wayne and his story. It is also said that players will have the opportunity to tackle a problem either as Bruce Wayne or Batman, which could call for multiple playthroughs.
Sadly there was no trailer or teaser of the gameplay as Creative Director Job Stauffer said: “There’s not a lot we can show you until it’s really close to premiering."
The untitled Batman Telltale series will debut this Summer.
