Some new developments have been revealed regarding the story elements in Gaijin Games' upcoming Runner 2. In a post on the game's Dev Blog, some of the key inspirations for the game were mentioned. All I can say is I'm really looking forward to seeing how the final product turns out.
According to Gaijin Games, CommanderVideo's story will be told through a myriad art styles. "We're using some radically different art styles to tell the Good Commander's story this time around," reads the post. "We've spent countless hours watching old films and cartoons, looking at what sorts of details and nuances gave the art and animation of certain eras a particular quality that evoked pure fun and imagination."
I like fun and imagination, and I know I'm not the only one. I think it's safe to say that Gaijin is really cooking up something special and unique. According to the developer, the end credits sequence from the 1956 film Around the World in 80 Days is one of the many inspirations for the storytelling in Runner 2. After watching that sequence, I'm even more excited to see how the game tells its story.
In addition to this intriguing tidbit of information, it appears the Runner 2 Dev Blog has seen a bit of an overhaul. According to Gaijin, the page layout will reflect the current developmental state of CommanderVideo's upcoming journey. All right, now we're all really, really, really excited!
