New Final Fantasy VII Remake theme song trailer confirms cross-dressing

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake. This time, players get to hear the theme song of the game by legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu. But the trailer also shows plenty of gameplay locales and action. Arguably the highlight being the infamous Honey Bee Inn. Watch it below!

Final Fantasy VII is an iconic JRPG. It ushered the age of AAA role-playing from the land of the rising sun, all with Hollywood-quality cinematics and music. The later is one of the highlights of the new trailer for the upcoming remake. The theme song of FFVII Remake is “Hollow” and is composed by Nobuo Uematsu with vocal by Japanese rock band Yosh. Uematsu should be a familiar name, as he is credited for some of the most recognizable music in all of JRPG history, chief among the majority of Final Fantasy games. If you want to know more about the new theme song, check out the Behind The Scenes video.

But another aspect of today’s trailer that is likely to get viewers’ attention is the Honey Bee Inn. The infamous brothel location from the original game makes a return in the remake, together with one of the most scandalous sidequests of its time. The location made a mark on its players by enabling them to cross-dress the main hero as a female to get into the brothel. It may not seem as scandalous today, but it was absolutely never-before-seen in the 90s.

After an unfortunate delay, Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PlayStation 4 on April 10th. It’s confirmed to stay a 12-month timed exclusive there before coming to other undisclosed platforms.
