New Final Fantasy XV screenshots show off guns as playable weapons

Final Fantasy XV may not quite be as around the corner as we were hoping, but that doesn't mean that we can't be excited about it. It has been known for some time that the game was going for a more modern approach in virtually every facet, from its Open World to its Action-RPG mechanics and the themes that it presented. However, one thing that seemed to get overlooked was that with none of the protagonists appeared to use any modern weapons in combat.

According to this new batch of screenshots, that is no longer the case. Noctis will be able to wield a variety of guns, each of which will introduce their own set of properties. Check out the screenshots below.

On top of guns, Noctis will be able to use a Circular Saw, whose special attack lets the player dice up enemies. Here it is:

This is pretty cool to see since we already had some sort of idea of what to expect from the game's combat, but it appears they may be a few more wrinkles than previously known.
