New Force Awakens characters arrive in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

In celebration of The Force Awakens' release, Electronic Arts' RPG-style turn-based mobile game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has been updated with new content from the film.

The free-to-play game, which sees you collect characters from the classic trilogy, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV shows, prequel films, has now added six new characters from The Force Awakens — Finn (tank), Rey (high damage attacker), Poe Dameron (tank), Kylo Ren (attacker), Captain Phasma (high damage attacker), and the First Order Officer (support). These new characters are available in Chromium Data cards or as shard drops, so you are able to farm them for free by simply playing the game (although that'll take a while).

Alternatively, there's also The Force Awakens Ultimate Bundle for $99.99 which drops all of the following:

  • 4-Star Kylo Ren
  • 4-Star Finn
  • 50 Poe Dameron Shards
  • 50 Captain Phasma Shards (which is actually enough to unlock her)
  • 40 3-star Training Droids
  • 300,000 Credits

It's worth noting that by simply logging into the game and playing, you'll automatically receive two characters for free. I'm not sure if it's different for everybody, but I received a 3-star Poe Dameron for the Light Side and a 1-star First Order Stormtrooper for the Dark Side.

To celebrate the film's release, EA is also giving players new ways to unlock Kylo Ren. Beginning today, Chromium packs will have a chance to unlock Kylo Ren and Kylo Ren shards. And starting tomorrow, you can also get shards from Cantina Mission 4C. Additionally, over the next 7 days, you'll receive a Kylo Ren shard each day in your inbox.
