New full-length Kong: Skull Island trailer reminds us what monster movies are about

We have only been given two full-length trailers for Kong: Skull Island and they've already shown us more monster than Godzilla had. If you're a monster movie fanatic, you'll be pleased with the latest trailer! There's plenty of King, giant komodo dragons, giant spiders, and John C. Reilly.

Ok, Reilly isn't a monster, but he brought some fun campiness to the trailer.

Joran Vogt-Roberts told EW earlier this month that Kong would see more monster than Godzilla and looks like they are making a point out of it in the second trailer:

We’re also fundamentally not playing the same game that Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla did and most monster movies do, which I’m sort of sick of the notion that a monster movie needs to wait an hour or 40 minutes until the creature shows up. Kong traditionally does not show up in these movies until very, very late, and the monster traditionally does not show up until very, very late in a monster movie, so a lot of these movies tend to have this structure that’s a bit of a slow burn. Something about this movie made me want to reject that and play a very, very different game.

Kong: Skull Island is preparing to hit theaters on March 10, starring Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, John C. Reilly and Samuel L. Jackson.
