New Ghost Recon Breakpoint trailer tells you what the game is really about

Ubisoft released a new trailer for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In more than six minutes, the video aims to deliver an in-depth overview of what players can expect to experience when the online-coop shooter arrives on October 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbo One and Google Stadia. Check out the trailer here!

With less than six between the unveiling and final release, Ghost Recon Breakpoint positions itself as a rather unusual title. Especially, considering that mega-publisher Ubisoft regularly takes its time to create enough excitement for their larger games. But this is exactly where the today’s new trailer tries to help.

The previous Ghost Recon title, Wildlands, became a large success, so a follow-up was to be expected. But Breakpoint looks to be more than just a regular sequel, by focusing more on the online aspect of being a bad-ass Spec-Ops soldier and enhancing the gameplay with new mechanics. Customization and co-op mechanics have been enhanced, and it looks like the long-running series is properly entering the age of Games-as-a-Service with Breakpoint. Wildlands already had online and co-op gameplay but it still was a mix of a traditional stand-alone experience with focus on multiplayer and content updates.

Face your toughest enemies, the Wolves, a lethal ex–US military unit gone rogue, ready to use the most effective killing machines to take you down. The Wolves used to be you. They have the same training and experience as you have. They have seized the archipelago of Auroa, taking control of the most important resources of the island: the drones. And they are led by your ex-brother-in-arms, Colonel Cole D. Walker, so you will have no choice but to confront your former teammate.

Breakpoint is also taking the series to a new location with Aurora. A fictional South Pacific region which is home to a wide variety of biomes. Since it’s not a real place, chances of players encountering even more greater diversity than the already-packed Wildlands world are pretty high. With the setting, Ubisoft has also opted to forgo real-world threats of cartels in favor of a high-tech Silicon Valley company Skell Technology. Probably the most interesting change in Breakpoint is a much more deep survival mechanic. Expanded injury and stamina systems will change the way you tackle objectives according to the terrain, weather and other threats.
