New Ghostbusters hate is the “greatest thing that ever happened,” say Sony

The new Ghostbusters movie has had a tough time winning over the hearts of fans, plenty of people disliked the film's trailer – making it one of the most disliked trailers to have graced YouTube. With such ill will pointed towards the film, Sony has to be sweating right?

Apparently not. All of the focus on the community's disapproval has only made the Sony boss, Tom Rothman, more pleased.

"It's the greatest thing that ever happened", the Sony boss told The Hollywood Reporter. "Are you kidding me? We’re in the national debate, thank you. Can we please get some more haters to say stupid things?"

So, Rothman feeds off of hate. Ok.

The reboot stars, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, as well as a familiar ghost who will be taking up the role as the reboot's main villain and in case you didn't notice him — Slimer is back.
