Well, that didn't take long. Destiny: The Taken King just released yesterday and already people are finding ways to glitch the system in order to quickly farm materials.
As some of you may have already discovered, The Taken King introduces a new material, Hadium Flakes, which you'll need to gather in order to craft one of the expansion's new swords. In order to complete the quest "A Broken Will," which rewards you with Void Edge, Sol Edge or Arc Edge, you'll need to farm 25 Hadium Flakes. These can be found in chests on the Dreadnaught, but can be quite annoying to farm.
Thanks to Polygon, they've discovered a glitch in Destiny's respawning timer that allows you to repoen chests infinitely as long as you're fast enough. The glitch takes advantage of Destiny's loading system; if you can load a new part of the area before the chest is removed, you can return to the chest and find it closed, ready for you to open again.
Check out the video below for a more detailed explanation on how to pull this off.
In addition to Hadium Flakes, this treasure chest glitch will also reward you with Glimmer, Motes of Light, Strange Coins, possibly Legendary Engrams, and even Runes which are used to activate the Court of Oryx event.
