New God of War announced for PlayStation 5; Coming in 2021

God of War was one of PlayStation 4’s best titles of the generation. The 2018 soft-reboot continued the story of Kratos while also opening it up to a new audience. It was mature, emotional, and incredibly fun to play. With Spider-Man and Horizon getting sequels already, many have been waiting for the new GoW.

At the end of the PlayStation 5 event, Sony revealed a very small teaser for the untitled God of War sequel. Snow swirls around the traditional series logo before the words “Ragnarok is coming” appear. The game will apparently release in 2021 but no footage was shown.

At the end of the previous game, Thor shows up at Kratos’ home, seemingly to fight him. Ragnarok is typically seen as an apocalyptic event with the death of major gods, so it seems Kratos may be getting his hands extra dirty.

The untitled God of War game will release on PlayStation 5 next year. The PlayStation 5 will release this November starting at $399.99.
