Usually there is some sort of special featured mode to play during the weekends in Halo 5: Guardians, but this week there will be TWO modes!
In addition to the regular featured arena mode, a Warzone Turbo mode will be added. The new Warzone mode is similar to the fiesta arena modes but instead of spawning with random weapons, players start at REQ level 9 as soon as the home base is captured. This gives players access to their whole REQ library without having to wait to level up. The energy to get new REQ with is set on fast recharge so when you die you can pick up your next high level weapon without having to wait.
This mode was originally created to make it easier to test the Warzone mode. Said Lead Multiplayer Designer Lawrence Metten, "We created the game type at the request of our test team so that they could more efficiently test Warzone features and functionality without having to wait to level up or refill energy".
And now it is in our hands.
Metten went on to say that this mode wasn't meant for regular people to play and the discussion on whether or not to ship this mode went something like this:
“Should we ship this?”
“We can’t not ship this!”
But after some polish, fixing, balancing and all that, Warzone Turbo is now ready to be played by the masses. Even Metten himself is hyped for this playlist, saying "I look forward to jumping into the playlist and joining the pandemonium with you all this weekend!".
The mode is available from today, April 1st, to April 4th. That means gamers get partake in the carnage the whole weekend. And it is also an excellent opportunity to get used to the weapons in preparation for Warzone Firefight
