Helldivers developer, Malin Hedstrom, made a cryptic post on the Arrowhead Game Studios web site today, pointing to a new expansion for the game called, Masters of the Galaxy. The expansion appears to feature new and tougher boss battles for high level players on various planets throughout the Galaxy. Included in the post are three high resolution screen shots of a few of these awesome new enemies, Kamul the Obliterator, a rolling battle tank, Sin'al the Silent Watcher, a floating mechanical apparatus, and Neptunea the Monstrous, a centipede-like creature with a gnarly set of teeth.
Helldivers was a very well received Top-Down, Twin-Stick Shooter for the PS4, PS3 and Vita with a heavy emphasis on Co-op. The game is all about tongue-in-cheek humor with over-the-top action that draws its influences from Starship Troopers. Everything from the sci-fi setting to the enemies lovingly referred to as "Bugs" unapologetically pay homage to its roots.
Arrowhead is promising to launch Masters of the Galaxy next month in July, though no concrete release date has been given. Until then, players have time to level up so that they can be ready when the expansion lands.
