Before her appearance in Justice League, Wonder Woman will be starring in a movie of her own, set at the time of World War I and now eager fans will be getting a closer look at how The Great War looked like for The Amazon Princess.
With just a few months left until its June 2 release Warner Bros. have now released yet another teaser via Empire Magazine of how the highly anticipated film will look and a word that comes to mind from this picture of Wonder Woman charging across the battlefield is "gritty."
Empire Magazine also got a little chat with the director or Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins, where she explained why she decided to go with the World War I setting and why she didn't set the film in a less horrible era in the history of humanity.
"My approach was to focus on telling the story of mechanized war and how that would look to a god visiting our world for the first time. I wanted the audience to understand the horrors that a war on this scale makes possible and how shocking that would be to someone who comes with a strong sense of honor and justice. She doesn't realise yet just how senselessly dark the world can be."
Jenkins also reinforced that the fact that this Wonder Woman film will be a "coming-of-age story" in many ways for Wonder Woman, even though Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) already looks like she has come of age.
"What motivates her is philosophical. She isn’t just taking out bad guys or fighting crime. She believes in goodness and love. [She] is fierce and willing to fight, but only to protect a better vision for mankind. Hers is really a coming-of-age story."
Wonder Woman is set to hit theaters June 2, 2017, and with the current pace, it seems like we can expect a few more sneak peaks before the movie premieres. Wonder Woman and a whole lot of other recently announced characters will be duking it out later in 2017 as well, November 17, to be precise.
