New Killer Instinct DLC Character Has Been Released

Killer Instinct, the slow-drip free-to-start fighting game on PC and Xbox One has a new DLC character available to buy. That character is Kilgore.

He was announced in January and has officially be released at the price of $10. But there's a little twist to this purchase. Half of every purchase towards Kilgore gets put into the 2017 Killer Instinct Community Fund, which goes into Killer Instinct competitive gaming tournaments.

A blog post from the developers states that players still get a chance to support the competitive scene even if they don't compete themselves in a way that effectively costs them nothing but their purchase.

So who or what is Kilgore? Here's his official description:

"Before Fulgore and the Mark 03 units were introduced to the world, Ultratech created a line of failed cyborgs during the secret CCIX Program. These hulking battle machines bore twin overpowered chain guns that tended to overheat, making them unstable and unfit for service. But one cyborg—nicknamed Kilgore—became self-aware, and started rewriting his own software to account for this deficiency in his hardware. Saved from the scrapheap, this special unit has been brought out of retirement by ARIA to enforce her will…and Kilgore obeys."

To pick up Kilgore as a playable character, find him through the Killer Instinct game or queue up a download right here.
