It has been nearly five years since Sony and Square Enix revealed Kingdom Hearts 3 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Despite the amount of time between now and its reveal, we still haven’t seen a release date. Luckily, new details and screenshots for the upcoming game have been revealed to tide us over.
According to a translation of Famitsu‘s recent overview on Kingdom Hearts 3, from Kingdom Hearts Insider, the first round of worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts 3 are 90% done. The middle group of worlds are around 60 to 70% complete.
Most screenshots for Kingdom Hearts 3 feature the Toy Story and Monsters Inc. worlds, which makes sense. They are in the first round of worlds, which is the more complete group of worlds. Olympus will be joining Toy Story and Monsters Inc. in the first set of worlds. Tangled is in the middle round of worlds.
There will be around 10 to 19 worlds in the game, spread out over three parts.

Additionally, the Giantland portion of the game will be implemented like an old LSI game.
Beyond the worlds, it was noted that the Gummi Ship will be customizable with accessories, similar to how you can accessorize Aqua in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep.
The Rare Heartless will be “giant-sized Japanese pudding themed Heartless” that will wear different fruit accessories.
In May 2017, the CEO of Square Enix suggests that the game was slated to release at some point within the ‘next three years or so’.
