New LEGO City: Undercover trailer debuts during Wii U presentation

During Nintendo's Wii U preview presentation, a new trailer for LEGO City: Undercover premiered, giving fans a new look at the upcoming sandbox-style adventure game featuring our favorite blocky characters that we've grown to love.

LEGO City: Undercover is the latest installment of the LEGO franchise that has become known for its silly humor and parody. Continuing the trend, players will play as undercover detective Chase McCain. Equipped with disguises that allow players to solve puzzles to access new areas of the city, McCain is tasked with stopping crime boss Rex Fury.

As you'll see in the video, LEGO: City Undercover is a charming little game that will remind you of Grand Theft Auto, minus the hookers. What you will have are over 100 vehicles to collect and use to explore LEGO city. Some of the vehicles shown off include an ice cream truck, helicopter, tractor, and boat.

So how will LEGO City: Undercover utilize the Wii U' GamePad's unique controls? Players can use it as a new police gadget to scan for hidden clues and criminals, receive mission updates, and place waypoints on the city map that display on the main screen.

LEGO City: Undercover doesn't yet have a date, but we now know that the Wii U will be available on November 18 in the U.S. and November 30 for Europe. The game was listed as one of the "launch window" games meaning it can arrive anywhere between November 18, 2012 and March 2013.
