New Metro Exodus Trailer is all about its Weapons and Customization

4A Games released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open-world shooter Metro Exodus. In this video, we get a look at the unique weapons and deep customization mechanics for them. Check out the trailer!

Only three weeks until the third entry into the post-apocalyptic Metro series takes us on a journey through the Russian wasteland. Metro Exodus marks a massive turning point for the franchise however, as it sheds itself from the linear game design of its predecessors. For the first time in Metro history, a true open-world will be the playground for players.

But similarly important to the Metro games is its large arsenal of pre-apocalypse real-world weapons and ingeniously cobbled-together specialties. It’s not only the weapons themselves which set Metro Exodus apart. The introduction of an entirely new customization system lets players change almost every aspect of a gun to create the perfect tool for the job at hand.

The usual range of weapon classes first-person shooter gamers have grown accustomed to are thrown on its head by the ability to transform a revolver into a medium-range rifle. Just change the stock, add an extended barrel and put a scope on it. The same goes for every weapon in the game which should make for an extraordinarily personalized shooting experience for every player.

It’s the fine mix of known weapons such as the iconic Kalashnikov and experimental shooters like a crossbow which you can customize to shoot metal balls instead of arrows and make it pneumatically powered for that extra punch. The possibilities are immense and should make for a new way of playing Metro.

Being a shooter series at its core, developer 4A Games is promising future videos that’ll dive deeper into each weapon class and the special weapons. Make sure to follow the official YouTube channel of Metro Exodus.

Metro Exodus releases February 15th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders are live on the game’s website.
