New Mutants X-Men Spinoff Could Bring Back An Important Character

Production of the X-Men Spinoff New Mutants is expected to start this spring. While that may be the case, we're still pretty slim on details with no official cast announcements.

However, there are hints at James McAvoy, as Professor X, reprising his role. Anya Taylor-Joy, who is rumored to be part of the cast, recently slipped this news in a Q&A about her new movie Split. When she was asked about McAvoy, with whom she co-stars in Split, and his involvement in New Mutants, she coyly response, "I mean, I think James is already a part of it, isn't he?"

According to GameSpot, shooting for New Mutants will begin in May in Montreal. It's said to be quite different from the other X-Men movies, playing less like a superhero movie and more like a teen horror movie with a writer specialized in such genres.
