Nintendo might have recently filed a trademark for the 2002 game Eternal Darkness, but that's not the only thing they are up to. It looks like the Big N could be eyeing another classic console for a rerelease.
With the NES Classic being sold out at almost every retailer, it makes plenty of sense that Nintendo would look to make as much profit as they can on that success. Instead of releasing more NES Classic systems, Nintendo has gone ahead and filed a new trademark for a familiar product.

Nintendo has registered a trademark for an image of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System's Super Famicon controller, the filing officially went through on December 5th. The trademarked image and the original controller share the same classic look but there are a couple things missing – where as the NES Classic and original NES controller look pretty similar.
While the trademark itself doesn't necessarily mean that Nintendo is planning a SNES Classic, it makes sense that Nintendo would make that move – especially with the original SNES being an extremely successful console with a number of extremely successful games on it.
In fact, we already know 30 games that need to be on the SNES Classic when it makes its inevitable release.
