New Overwatch Map is Out On Public Test Region

Junkertown is live for PTR.

A new map for Overwatch has just released on the Public Test Region server. It's called Junkertown, and it's set in Australia, the home of Junkrat and Roadhog.

The map is an Escort map and can be joined on PC versions of the game through Overwatch's Public Test Region. Here's how to join the PTR right now. There's no word on when it will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it's only a matter of time, as the PTR is used exclusively to test and balance new features before widespread release.

The official description of the map:

"Constructed from the remains of a destroyed omnium, it's now the home to a band of lawless scavengers known as the Junkers, led by their cutthroat Queen. When they aren't pillaging the omnium's skeleton for anything of value, the Junkers blow off steam in the Scrapyard–a massive gladiatorial arena whose combatants fight for glory, riches…and to survive."

Last week, when Junkertown was revealed, Many Australians noted that a sign in one of the screenshots read "take-out" instead of the Australian term "take-away". Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan profusely apologized for the mishap, which is still being debated on whether or not the apology was tongue-in-cheek or not, as the mix up was not a big deal, nor does anyone seem particularly upset.

Additionally, the game has added Deathmatch modes as part of a bigger update. There was also a video released by Blizzard showing Mei's emotional backstory.
