New Overwatch Patch Released for Consoles, It’s Not Doomfist Yet

Patience, Overwatch fans, it's a virtue.

Eight days ago, we predicted that Blizzard would be adding a new character to Overwatch, according to some new lore pieces. Sure enough, two days later, these predictions came true with the announcement of Doomfist finally being added to the roster very soon. Today, Overwatch received a new update on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Tap the brakes though, it's not the Doomfist update.

While Doomfist is technically on the public test server on PC, he's still unavailable in standard servers on PC and consoles. The patch released today instead fixes a multitude of audio issues and problems with Orisa's Ultimate, the latest addition to the game before Doomfist.

New Overwatch Patch Released for Consoles, It's Not Doomfist Yet

While we anxiously await Doomfists arrival, we can at least enjoy the extra stability this update brings us. See details in the patch notes below.

General

  • Fixed a bug that caused some players to lose audio during the match.
  • Fixed a bug causing the vacuum-of-space sound effects from the Horizon Lunar Colony menu screen to persist even after selecting a new menu area.

Heroes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Pharah's "I am the rocket queen" voice line from playing correctly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Orisa's ultimate to charge while her Supercharger was deployed.

While there's no official announcement on Doomfist's release, considering he's on the test server, it's only a matter of time before we're swinging that fist.
