It was only four days ago that we were treated with a Persona 5 trailer that highlighted characters and gameplay. Shortly after that reveal, the dev team at Atlus revealed some information on the plot and characters in the game.
Here we are, less that a week after reveal and even more info has been revealed! The latest issue of the Japanese magazine, Famitsu (translated and relayed by Hachima) reveals some interesting aspects of the game.
The new details cover the game's protagonist. the gameplay from the trailer, the game's location, Persona's and more!
- The game's protagonist is a transfer student in his second-year of high school. He transfers in to the new school at the beginning of the year and will live in a coffee shop owned by family acquaintances. (No parents in the picture)
- The first usable Persona for the protagonist is named “Arsène”– similar to the famous thief Arsène Lupin. (PSA: the animated movie Lupin III was based on the exploits of his grandson Arsene Lupin III)
- The protagonist may be faced with some sort of trouble that can only be resolved if he fights. The trailer that revealed last week had him imprisoned and featured a symbol for a “prison of mind”.
- The game starts in Shibuya, but will move throughout Tokyo.
- The dungeon that was revealed in the trailer's gameplay was not randomly generated, but there will be randomly generated events in the game.
- There will Social Link's in Persona 5, but not as you currently know them.
