Iron Man 3 director, Shane Black is once again talking about his upcoming Predator movie. Black has already stated that the movie will be a 'spectacle' solely based on how much money Fox is willing to throw at the project, that the movie will begin filming this Fall (with its big budget) and how the Predator's gear will be upgraded.
Now, Black wants to talk about what the film will be like and according to him if they "get it right" it be a scary movie with some humor.
"I think the tone shifting is important," Black told ComingSoon. "This one is going to be very scary if I get it right, and hopefully also there'll be some humour in it. The first one had humour in it, so you really got engaged with this group of guys […] We'll cast very carefully. We'll get a group of people against the monster that I think you're gonna enjoy spending time with."
Black is careful of falling into the overplayed character with Predator. In the upcoming film Black's goal is to "find a way to make him mysterious again."
In addition to that, Black's writing partner, Fred Dekker, said that the upcoming Predator was more like Aliens than Alien, if he had to compare.
“If you think of the first Predator as Alien, ours is much more Aliens," said Dekker to Movie Crypt Podcast (via ScreenRant). "It’s not Ten Little Indians, it’s not, Let’s kill off all of our characters, because we have a lot of characters, from a lot of different worlds and ideologies. I don’t mean other planets. It’s a lot of people doing a lot of things in a lot of locations.”
Hopefully the new Predator will be good, however, with all these reboots it feels like Hollywood is struggling.
