New Spider-Man film might have its Aunt May

Aunt Mae? More like Aunt Bae.

Last month, our official Peter Parker/Spider-Man was revealed for the new Spider-Man film. The 19-year old Tom Holland will be taking the role of Peter Parker after a series of rigorous screen tests against five other actors.

Since we know who who Spider-Man is, it's time we know who his Aunt May is. Sources have informed Variety that Aunt May will be played by Marisa Tomei, best known for Crazy Stupid Love and My Cousin Vinny.

Tomei looks relatively young for the role of Aunt May when put up against Sally Field who was 65-years old in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), and Rosemary Harris who was 75 when she first played the role in Spider-Man(2002). Her age does fit the film's focus, a Spider-Man film that is not an origin story with a younger Peter Parker that explores the life of a high schooler with superpowers that fights crime.

Sony and Marvel have yet to comment on the rumor.

Please don't make this the into something like 'Peter Parker starring in the High School drama known as Spider-Man.'
