New Star Wars: The Force Awakens details arrive out of Star Wars Celebration

As you're probably well aware by now, Star Wars Celebration 2015 kicked off yesterday. In case you missed it, Disney and Lucasfilm debuted a brand new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated film, but we're more interested in the details coming out of the convention.

On the show floor, there are plenty of props, models, and costumes that have been used in the production of The Force Awakens. With that, comes a ton of new details about the film.

For starters, it appears the "Empire" is no longer around. Instead, it appears to be called the "First Order". Also, the "Rebel Alliance" appears to be called the "Resistance" now.

Here are some more images from Star Wars Celebration that reveal new information about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Snowtroopers

Flametroopers

Resistance X-Wing

"The modern incarnation of a classic design, the Incom T-70 X-wing fighter is the signature combat craft of the Resistance forces in their fight against the First Order."

Finn Concept Art

During yesterday's panel, actor John Boyega confirmed his character Finn was, indeed, a Stormtrooper. But what's interesting about his concept art is that he's holding a lightsaber. Is he a Jedi as well? Or a Sith? Boyega wouldn't reveal if his character was good or bad, but it appears he's more than just your average Stormtrooper.

Rey Concept Art

We know Rey is a scavenger in a ship graveyard on the desert planet of Jakku. But is she something more — like the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia? We dont' know for sure, but the blaster in her concept art looks awfully similar to the one Han Solo wields in the original trilogy.

Star Wars Celebration is continuing throughout the weekend, so I'm sure we'll find out a ton of more details about the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as well as other Star Wars properties, like EA's new game Star Wars Battlefront which has a panel today.
