New Starcraft 2 Terran units revealed and detailed

Battlecruiser seems OP

The Terran arsenal is getting bigger and badder (in the sense of it being bada** — not being bad)! Blizzard has implemented some new units and offered a nice little explanation for the added units.

Let's take a look at the units:

Hellbat


Hellbat

  • The Hellbat is strongest against Zerglings and Zealots. 
  • It's a light, short-range splash damage unit – best used against large numbers of melee units at choke points.
  • It is high in health and low in cost…making it a good damage soaking unit.
  • Weak against armored ranged units: Baneling, Stalker, Marauder

Ghost


GHOST

  • The Ghost has a bunch of offensive abilities and can attack air and ground units
  • Sniper rounds eliminate biological targets.
  • EMP: Wipes energy reserves or deals damage to protoss shields.
  • Authorizes nuclear strikes
  • It is strong against: Raven, Infestor, and High Templar
  • Weak against: Marauder, Zergling, and Stalker

Thor


Thor

  • Thor can attacks air and ground units
  • Requires support, it is slow and vulnerable
  • Costly to produce
  • Deals heavy damage to all land based units with main cannons and does lighter damage to air units with missile launchers
  • Strong against: Marine, Mutalisk and Stalker
  • Weak against: Marauder, Zergline and Immortal

Battlecruiser


Battlecruiser

  • The Battlecruiser takes time to get into action, but it's unmatched in battle.
  • Aattacks air and ground units
  • Yamato Cannon can take out structures, units and clear paths — six of Battlecruisers using this cannon can take out a command structure in one shot.
  • Slow to move, but if protected by something like the Hellbat – unstoppable.
  • Best postitioned above enemies on a cliff.
  • Strong against: Thor, Mutalist, and Carrier
  • Weak against: Viking, Corruptor and Void Ray
