Kevin Smith was right, the hype was real for tonight's DC special — 'Dawn of the Justice League'. Along with new footage of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and a first look at Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman standalone film, we got a new trailer for the highly anticipated Suicide Squad.
From the start of it, the new trailer offers a completely different tone than the previous trailer. Whereas the first trailer shown at during San Diego Comic-Con had a darker, more mature tone, tonight's trailer focused more on the action and comedic aspects of the film. We see a bit more of the recruitment process, and see a bit more of each of the Suicide Squad members. Of course, the highlight of the trailer is Jared Leto as The Joker. Though not technically a member of the Suicide Squad, he plays a pivotal role in the film. What sort of role is still a mystery at this point, but he certainly looks intriguing.
Suicide Squad hits theaters this summer on August 5th. The film stars Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg.
