Shinji Mikami, who created Dino Crisis and the original Resident Evil for Capcom (back when the series still used tank controls and actual zombies), is making his mark on the genre again with a new survival horror game.
"I've found my focus and once again I'm striving for pure survival horror," he said. "I am being very hands-on to see that the quality is there."
Mikami described the project to Famitsu, referring to the game as the codenamed "Zwei" (meaning "2"). According to Mikami, the name is a placeholder; it's not indicative of content. He's working on the game at his Tango Gameworks studio.
"Zwei" will most likely release for HD consoles, with Mikami acting as executive director.
Aside from Resident Evil, Mikami's previous works include Shadows of the Damned, Vanquish, and God Hand.
