As someone who enjoys the Sword Art Online anime, I'm really glad that Bandai took the plunge and decided to localize the games based on the show. Hollow Fragment was a solid dungeon crawler albeit one with horrible localization, though the PS4 version fared a lot better. Lost Song will continue the story but this time in the world of ALfheim, where all the characters are fairies. Yep.
While this premise originally turned me off in the show, especially after its dark first half, it does actually get a lot better. It's unclear whether the game will follow the story based on the show, or whether it will also be an all new, original story like Hollow Fragment. It looks as though the game will employ a lot of new gameplay features it seems like, from free-flight to all new combat options.
You can check out the trailer above, which spotlights some of the multiplayer features, such as a robust character creator, teaming up to tackle quests, or even participating in a 4v4 arena.
Sword Art Online: Lost Song will launch on November 17 for the PS Vita and PlayStation 4.
