This summer, a decade-long cliffhanger will finally be resolved in the form of Pixar’s The Incredibles 2. Long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DCEU, the Disney owned animation studio released a film about a superpowered family who has fallen under the camouflage of a normal suburban family as superheroes fall to the wayside.
The superhero family is eventually called to action as Mr. Incredible seeks his return to the glory days of heroism and the family grows together while saving the day. The film was a massive hit and ended on a cliffhanger showing The Incredibles about to take on a villain known as the Underminer but we never got to see the actual battle.
With The Incredibles 2, fans will get to see the result of the fight and then see the family take on a new feature-length adventure. As of right now, plot details are being held close to the chest by Pixar and they’ve only released one very brief teaser showing off the superpowered baby known as Jack-Jack.
Coming Wednesday, Pixar and Disney will give us our first true look at the long-awaited second installment in The Incredibles saga with a new trailer. The trailer will debut during the Winter Olympics. The announcement comes from a new promo that shows off a few new bits of footage such as Dash ice skating, Mr. Incredible going toe to toe with someone, and Frozone attempting to stop a train with Elastigirl.
We’ll be sure to post the full trailer when it goes live this Wednesday.
The Incredibles 2 releases on June 15th, 2018.
