New Transformers mobile fighting game announced

We’re getting a new Transformers game, but probably not the one you were hoping for. Today, developer Kabam and Hasbro announced Transformers: Forged to Fight, a mobile fighter game.

It will be free-to-play and is described as a “high-definition, action-fighting role-playing game with strategy elements” where you will assemble an “ultimate” team of Autobots and Decepticons to do battle.

Transformers: Forged to Fight will include 1v1 battles and RPG elements, allowing you to play from the 30 year history of historic Transformers characters including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, and Grimlock. Characters can be leveled up, and you unlock more abilities over time – which is code for microtransactions are incoming.

The game is in beta right now and is expected to release on Android and iOS devices Spring 2017.

You probably know what to expect from Transformers: Forged to Fight. Kabam’s other claim to fame is another mobile fighting game, Marvel: Contest of Champions.
