New “U-Wing” spaceship revealed for ‘Rogue One’

It looks like the prequel story will still give us stuff we haven't seen.

A new vehicle has been revealed for the upcoming prequel, 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story', known as the "U-Wing".

Tension has been steadily mounting for the newest installment to the 'Star Wars' expanded universe, 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'. With the story and plot already known, the only thing left to be revealed before the premiere are the details, mainly the ones involving any new characters, weapons, and vehicles. In a recent episode of 'The Star Wars Show', a new rebel ship was revealed called the INCOM UT-60D, aka "U-Wing".

The U-Wing is a soldier transporter ship, intended to move rebel troops in and out of battlefields. The ship features wings that can close for mid-flight maneuverability, or open defensively, depending on how dengerous the drop zones in question are.

It still remains to be seen why this is the first we're seeing of this ship considering they weren't featured in the original 'Star Wars' films (other than the obvious fact that there's a 30+ year gap between their releases). Its possible the one we'll be seeing is the only one at the rebels' disposal and it eventually gets destroyed. Maybe Disney plans on releasing another "remaster" that features some U-Wings in the background. We'll likely know more when the film releases this November.

The movie stars Forest Whitaker, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, and the return of James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader.
