As Divinity: Original Sin 2 continues its wildly successful trek through Early Access, players are getting some new and very inventive ways to get creative. Developer Larian Studios announced in a brand new Kickstarter update that they are releasing two new schools of magic into the game; Polymorph magic coinciding with a Metamorph class, as well as Summoning magic and its Conjurer class. The former unlocks an ability that allows players to transform an enemy or NPC of their choosing into a chicken. Both sets of magic offer brand new ways to attack enemies (or just screw around) and really play well into the creative aspect of a player's battling style.
As you can probably imagine, Summoning magic allows players to call forth an ally to help them in battle. This can be anything from an elemental incarnate to a stationary totem. The element with which your incarnate or totem is depends on the type of surface you summon them from. Burst open a barrel of oil on the ground, and your totem will fire oil shots that will slow down your opponent. Combine that with a fireball attack, and you've got yourself a personal fireworks show.
Polymorphism allows players to transform their character in a variety of ways to open up combat possibilities. You can sprout horns on your head to unlock a devastating charge attack or sprout wings and fly to areas of the battlefield you couldn't otherwise reach for an added tactical advantage. As mentioned earlier, the Polymorphism magic allows players to turn their foes into chickens, but to do so; you must take out your target's magical armor, which then leaves them vulnerable to being rendered utterly hapless and feathery.
The new update to Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available now to those who own the Early Access version on either Steam or GOG.com. If you'd like some more information on the update, you can head over to Steam for more details.
