New video from the set of ‘Supergirl’ may confirm a classic Superman villain

Is that exactly who it looks like?

A newly leaked set video from season two of 'Supergirl' depicts Superman in the heat of battle with a potential one of his classic comic villains.

News and updates on the newest season of 'Supergirl' have been flooding the internet now that filming is underway. Now that we know for sure that Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers/Supergirl will be making her way to Metropolis to enlist the help of her legendary cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (played by MTV's Teen Wolf star, Tyler Hoechlin), the question of how close to the comics the show will start become has been a topic of discussion. Thanks to a recent eagle-eyed twitter user, some footage from the set may confirm Superman battling a classic villain:

Do you recognize the Man of Steel's adversary? From what can be seen, it looks like Superman will be fighting one of his top-tier enemies, Metallo. If you're unfamiliar, Metallo is a maniacal android who literally runs on a Kryptonite heart. You can clearly see the unmistakable green glow emitting from his chest, as well as what appears to be some kind of metal apparatus strapped to Superman's chest, likely a lead "bib" in order to protect him from the alien ore's anti-Kryptonian radiation.

If this is, in fact, Metallo, it will be the first modern-day, live-action portrayal of the character since Brian Austin Green's version on 'Smallville'.

Supergirl season 2 premieres on The CW October 10th!
