Avalanche Studios released the newest video for Just Cause 4, their upcoming open-world action game. It’s the first in their newly started Spotlight series of videos in which the developer will display aspects of Just Cause 4 in greater detail. Today’s video is entirely focusing on the game world, its four distinct biomes and the unique environmental weather threats they pose. Check out the spotlight video here.
Avalanche recently unveiled the whole map present in Just Cause 4 on the game’s website. While not revealing too much with its satellite image depiction of Solis, it did give us a rough idea of what to expect. In the new spotlight video now, Avalanche is going deeper into detail by unveiling four biomes.
The largest and most prominent region is the Rainforest which fits perfectly with Just Cause 4’s South American setting. The thick forests and tropical storms make this place anything but safe however, as the idyllic greenery can turn into a dangerous wet hell where lightning strikes destroy even fortified installations.
At the polar opposite, we also witness a Desert region, the smallest biome and most untouched place in the world. Sandy dunes and rocky bands pose a hostile environment which you’ll want to traverse with off-road vehicles. Or maybe use the place’s open wide space to practice piloting skills. Sandstorms are a threat however and massively impact visibility and orientation.
If you don’t like the heat, how about taking a hike into the Alpines? The mountainous region covered in snow offers the best location for extended wingsuit gliding. Be aware of blizzards whose extreme winds can throw you right off the skies or maybe even into mountain sides.
Lastly, we have the Greenlands. Serene and peaceful plains who are home to the majority of SolÃs’ population. Bustling cities and agricultural farms are located here. Just stay clear from the path of destruction tornadoes are causing in these plains.
Just Cause 4 comes out December 4th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
