New Witcher 3 information details Geralt, cities, crafting and more

If this could just release now...

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on track to release in just a couple of months and there are tons of features for us to look forward to. These new features can range anywhere from general gameplay improvements to beards growing over time.

German gaming magazine Gamestar got their hands on The Witcher 3 for an unlimited amount of time, over two days. After two days, the journalist played 12 hours and reached level 7, he was quoted saying that his time with the game was "most beautiful, most exciting and overwhelming experiences I have experienced in my 33 years gaming life."

What gameplay elements did the magazine feature? Well, the internet is a fine place and the folks at NeoGaf are (at times) the kindest of them all. They went ahead and got points translated to something more intelligible (thanks Google Translate for making things hard to understand).

Check out some of the most awesome features:

Gameplay:

  • There are 4 difficulties (easy, medium, hard and dark) which differ in the skill of the monsters you face. Hitpoints remain the same.
  • Extra storage can be made by crafting saddle bags for your horse.
  • The game features two large cities: Novigrad and Oxenfurt.
  • No Man’s Land features 25 smaller towns, some of which are the size of Flotsam from The Witcher 2.
  • Best items in the game must be crafted
  • No level scaling
  • No quick time events for fist-fighting
  • Game world changes based on your decisions

Geralt:

  • Beard grows over time
  • Geralt can rob people
  • All equipped items are visible on Geralt

Tech:

  • Day 1 patch confirmed
  • Xbox One resolution will stay at 900p
  • HUD is fully customizable.
  • Ultra seems to have a big effect on the quality of vegetation and character models.
  • Visual gore more prominent than in The Witcher 2.
  • Doors open automatically, no pressing buttons to open them

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on May 19.
