New York Comic-Con’s Blade Rave will rain blood

You know the opening scene of the 1998 vampire superhero action film Blade? Of course you do. And if don't, you're probablay not old enough to attend the upcoming New York Comic-Con Blood Rave anyway.

Hosted by BBQ Films and Deacon Frost, the NYCC party invites you to "Step into 1998’s BLADE film at the first big Halloween party of 2015." The Blood Rave is set to go down at New York City's Terminal 5 on Friday, october 9, one hour after sunset.

Entertainment includes a screening of the original Blade film; live music and performances by The Crystal Method (headlining) with support from Pictureplane, a place both wonderful and strange, and DJ Choyce Hacks; costumed actors who will bring scenes from the film to life; a relaxing space styled after Deacon Frost's Lair; special guest appearances; and, of course, (synthetic) blood rain. That's right, just like in the film, it will rain blood (although it will be contained to a special splash zone).

"This is no ordinary gathering. As the ancient prophecy foretold, you will party with the spirits of the 12 vampire houses and awaken the legendary La Magra, the Blood God. Vampires have lived among humans long enough. This October, come celebrate our rightful place atop the food chain. Spread the word. Sharpen your fangs. And plan to wear something that you don’t mind getting a little…bloody."

More details on BBQ Film's Blade Rave, including tickets, can be found here.

Get ready to party like it's 1998.
