New Medal of Honor Sets Franchise Presale Record

Less than two weeks from launch, Medal of Honor is setting a franchise record, having reached the highest number of presale units in the franchise’s 11-year history. According to EA, this puts Medal of Honor on the same level as the company’s other top pre-selling action games.

Taking place in Afghanistan, Medal of Honor tells the story of the Tier 1 Operator, an elite member of the U.S. Military working for the National Command Authority to take on missions no one else can handle.

Open beta for Medal of Honor starts on October 4 and ends on October 7. For those participating in the multiplayer beta, the client will be available for download Oct. 1. The beta will feature two new maps based on real world locations: Kunar Base and Shahikot Mountains. Both will pit two teams of 12 players against one another in tactical and objective-based combat.

Medal of Honor hits retail shelves on October 12.
