ABANDON INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT REVEALS
PUGNACIOUS PETS IN FREAKY CREATURES
Upon Reaching Level 11, Creatures’ Pets Can
Help During Battle in Upcoming MMO Game
Abandon Interactive Entertainment today released
new screenshots showing Creatures’ pets in battle in the upcoming online
creature building and battling game, Freaky Creatures. Hitting shelves in March
2009, Freaky Creatures combines the best of online multiplayer PC gaming,
collectible action figures, virtual worlds and social networking.
As players win battles in Freaky Creatures they
collect Creature Credits which can be redeemed at the Creature Club Store
online. Creature Credits can be used to purchase one of five pets at the game’s
launch. Upon acquiring a pet, players can name and assign it to a specific
Creature, and have it appear in the Creatures’ lairs and in the lobbies. After a
Creature reaches level 11, its pet can then aid him in battle against other
players.
Pets can assist Creatures in battle through one
of two forms – mean or nice. In a mean state, pets will deal damage to a
Creature’s opponent. While in their nice form they will lend defensive
abilities. A pet’s form is chosen at random so it will be up to the player to
wait a couple of rounds before a specific effect is activated.
The new screenshots show the five different pets
that will be available for purchase at the online Creature Club Store when the
game ships to retail. The screenshots reveal the two forms pets take on amidst
Creature combat, as well as show the advantage of having a pet alongside a
Creature in battle.
The Freaky Creatures experience begins with a
starter pack that includes two action figures and a one gigabyte reusable flash
drive. Once players have created their unique creature they can jump straight
into battle or build a lair in which they can care for their creature and hang
out with friends. Players can also participate in the Freaky Creatures
community, personalize their homepage, play mini-games, join tournaments, check
leaderboards, trade items, read animated comics, enter contests, form teams and
much more in the ever expanding Freaky Creatures Universe. Starter packs will be
available in March 2009 for $19.99.
