Shade: Wrath of Angels
New Shade: Wrath of Angels game
revealed!
March 8, 2004 – Cenega Publishing,
Prague, Czech Republic – Press Announcement:
Shade: Wrath of Angles is a third
person horror / action adventure, which has been in development for a while now!
Since last year’s E3 the development studio, Black Element Software, have
re-worked the graphic’s engine and storyline to produce a greater gaming
experience in every possible way. The new engine supports all the latest
technology, including full compatibility with DirectX 9.
Shade: Wrath of Angels boasts 30
levels of intense action, featuring environments from the modern day,
Middle-Ages, Ancient Egypt and the mysterious Shadowland. The player takes on
the role of a secretive ex-military mercenary, who receives a letter from his
brother asking to meet him in an old Eastern European town. Once there the
player finds the town strangely quiet – until he discovers dead bodies, frighten
soldiers and scientists running away from the town. It is at this point that the
player first meets a sinister shadow being that offers him help and guidance for
his adventure. As well as his advice, the shadow figure gives the player his
servant – the Demon, which the gamer can morph into at anytime and whose
physical strength and magic attacks will play an important part of the
adventure.
Many features of the game have
changed since its last public showing – the combat system has been altered to
involve more close combat fighting, with the removal of all the firearms
(excluding the Hero’s trusted sidearm) and the inclusion of mlée weapons such
as swords, maces and torches. The Demon’s abilities have been increased to
include several powerful magic spells that can be upgraded in the magic shops
throughout the game – trading “Angel Tears” that the player can collect
throughout his journey.
Shade: Wrath of Angels will take
about 30 hours to complete – but also has multiple endings depending on your
actions as you play the game – so it also has high replay value as the gamer has
different options to chose from.
