Next Batman game will be a Silver Age prequel

The unannounced follow-up to Batman: Arkham City will be set in the '50s Silver Age of comic books, when Batman partnered with Superman and the Justice League.

The prequel will focus on Batman's first meeting with the Joker. Mark Hamill, the voice of the clown prince of crime, has recently walked away from the role, although he returned for DC Universe Online.

WBIE would likely release the game around 2014, according to Variety.

The publisher first began its line of Batman games with the highly successful Arkham Asylum in 2009.
