Next Car Game earns $1 million in first week on Steam Early Access

Next Car Game, which once struggled to find a publisher due to a lack of interest in destruction-heavy racers, has now pushed out $1 million in sales after its first week on Steam Early Access.

Next Car Game failed to meet its crowdfunding goal on Kickstarter in November last year, making only $81,000 out of the necessary $350,000, but Finnish developer Bugbear Entertainment didn't give up. It moved the campaign to its website, racked up nearly $500,000, and now it's making even more money on Early Access.

The developer plans to complete the demolition-derby racing game by early spring. Other titles, such as open-world survival-horror game DayZ, have experienced huge success on Early Access.
