Next Titanfall will ‘probably’ come to PlayStation, EA exec teases

EA lays out its plans for future first-person shooters

Electronic Arts hasn't officially announced a Titanfall 2, but speaking at the 2015 Technology, Internet & Media Conference, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen once again brought up the possibility — or probability, rather — of a sequel to the company's 2014 blockbuster shooter. And this time, he all but confirmed it won't be an Xbox exclusive.

"Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another Titanfall game," he said. "It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us."

This isn't the first we've heard that a potential sequel to Titanfall could be headed to other platforms. Speaking to GameInforner last year, Vince Zampella, CEO of Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, spoke about the franchise's future, also suggesting it will not "necessarily be exclusive."

Also during the call, Jorgensen talked about EA's long-term vision for first-person shooter games, revealing the publisher's plans to deliver at least one new FPS every year. This year, we're getting Battlefield Hardline and Star Wars: Battlefront. Next year, it'll be a new Battlefield installment, and beyond that it could be Titanfall 2, he suggested.
