Next Total War game to be set in “an era we haven’t tackled yet”

The hopes of Warhammer 40 000 game lives on

The Creative Assembly really struck gold when they released Total War: Warhammer and they have already started working on the next installment of the Total War franchise, which will be set in a whole new untouched era!

Total War: Warhammer was a success for developer Creative Assembly and we loved it so much that we even gave it a 9 out of 10, it even became the fastest-selling game in the franchise. So The Creative Assembly has no reason to quit now that they have gotten the Total War games back on track and they have even made the decision on what era the next game will be set in and it will be a fresh and previously untouched experience.

During a roundtable discussion with Eurogamer about the future of the franchise the brand director, Rob Bartholomew, said that they were working on "an era we haven't tackled yet." Eurogame then went on to press creative director Mike Simpson on Bartholomew's comments he confirmed it by saying "Did he? That's interesting of him. Yes, it's a brand new era. It's not something we've done before.".

That means that the next Total War game set in a new era means that the next historical Total War game won't be set in the Roman Republic, feudal Japan, medieval Europe, the Napoleonic Wars, or the Amercian Revolutionary War.

This new game is still in pre-production and no title or release date has been announced yet, this information wasn't supposed to get out either. Now it's time to place your bets on what era the new Total War game will be set in, The Three Kingdoms or  Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms eras in China, the Emu Wars of Australia, World War I or II, or even Warhammer 40.000.
