Next week’s Inside Xbox promises to show plenty of next-gen gameplay

Assassin's Creed Valhalla footage already confirmed

Mark your calendars folks! Microsoft has announced that the upcoming Inside Xbox show next week is going to feature a first look at next-gen gameplay from the Xbox Series X. According to comments by Microsoft to IGN, this event will focus on next-gen third-party games with a separate event being held in Summer focusing on the first-party Xbox Game Studios’ titles.

There’s no question anymore. Next-gen is coming and it’s coming hard. Despite early fears that the launch of Sony’s and Microsoft’s new home consoles could potentially be delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, recent news paints a vastly different picture. Not only did Ubisoft openly state that their juggernaut franchise is returning this Holiday with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, now Microsoft has shared the news that they are going to talk and show lots about next-gen games.

On May 7, exactly in one week, team green is going to focus on the Xbox Series X and several next-games projects third-party developers are currently working hard on. Ubisoft just announced that the worldwide first gameplay footage for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be shown at the upcoming Inside Xbox.

Microsoft has been preparing very hard for the future with a slew of studio acquisitions and a radical shift in company strategy for its gaming brand. What started as a mishmash of ideas with the Xbox One turned around very nicely into a great gaming-focused new identity.

That strategy is showing its strengths with the no-compromise approach of the Xbox Series X. Unlike the Xbox One, power won’t be a problem. Quite the contrary. On paper, Microsoft has managed to outdesign Sony’s PlayStation 5. Now, all that is left to do is to convince gamers that on the software side Xbox is well-prepared for next-gen. Expectations for next week’s Inside Xbox are high and we hope to be blown away by the promise of a new console generation.
